Technology is always surprising us. More and more amazing inventions are appearing everyday. The airplane was made a long time ago, but have you ever seen an airplane that only uses solar energy? Well, yes, this has been made. A solar-powered aircraft flew over New York a few years ago. Unfortunately, the revolutionary plane, powered by some 11,000 solar cells on its oversized wings, had to land earlier than expected because of a problem on his left wing. However, that doesn't mean it's not a great invention.



On the one hand, solar planes are a great idea because today there is a lot of pollution and we have to do everything possible to reduce it. The fuel that planes carry, and that is spread all over the sky when they fly, is very polluting. Moreover, sunlight is a clean energy that never runs out. "It was a great success for renewable energy" Borschberg said.



On the other hand, as I said before, the plane had to land earlier because there was a problem in one of the wings; what would happen if it happened in a normal flight with a lot of passengers? Besides, solar panels are very sensitive and planes fly very fast so it is very likely that an accident can happen during a flight. Moreover, at night planes couldn’t take solar energy from the sun and they may run out of power.



All in all, solar-powered planes can be very good for us but we have to be careful because sometimes they can be dangerous. In my opinion, they should invent an airplane that has both solar panels and fuel.
